Botanical watercolour
as part of misery medicine: plant magic
Bethnal Green Nature Reserve, London

As Lead Facilitator with Misery, a sober mental health collective by and for queer, trans and intersex black people and people of colour (QTIBPOC), Maymana Arefin designed and co-facilitated a botanical watercolour session to rest, meditate and deeply connect with the surroundings at Bethnal Green Nature Reserve. Together, we integrated mindfulness and meditation into our watercolour practice; using water and gentle, flowing colours to create pieces that were later compiled as a community zine.
