as part of Grounded Ecotherapy celebration

On the final day of the ‘Dear Earth: Art and Hope in a Time of Crisis’ exhibition, Maymana Arefin was invited to hold a public session to celebrate the work of ‘Grounded Ecotherapy’, a group of individuals stewarding the rooftop garden at the Southbank Centre.
In this session, the artist guided participants to reflect on their own connection with the natural world through imprint, mark making and embedding plants and seed pods into clay. Throughout the day, families, young people and disabled participants made a medallion or sculpture (as shown above).
